Eva D. Bahovec is Senior Researcher at the Centre for Women Studies, Institute of Educational Research, and Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. Her main research interests are in the areas of contemporary philosophy, sociology of education, and women's studies.
Eva D. Bahovec teaches undergraduate courses at the Department of Philosophy, and the Department of Sociology, graduate courses of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Women’s Studies and Feminist Theory (Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana), and at the ISH – Faculty for Advanced Studies in Humanities. In the area of philosophy she teaches epistemology and structuralism; women’s studies and philosophy; in the area of women’s studies she teaches introductory courses in women’s studies and feminist theory, as well as some specialised topics, such as feminism and psychoanalysis, the politics of the body, etc.
In the area of research, she has been engaged in the following international research projects: IEA Pre-primary Project (1993-1996), co-ordinated by the High/Scope Educational Association, Michigan, United States; research project Athena – Advanced Thematic Network for Women’s Studies (1997-2000), co-ordinated by Utrecht University; Netherlands. She is presently engaged in the European Commission research project Employment and Women’s Studies in Europe, co-ordinated by Hull University and carried out in nine countries.
